Many blogspot users have find it very difficult to put up or rather, setup Whogohost domain on blogger. Well, if you are faced with this same problem, then consider it solved, because I have been on the blogspot panel for some years now. Coupled to this, I also have many domains from whogohost. So, you have nothing to fear about at all.
This tutorial is going to consist of just 9 easy steps. Thus, it is important that you read painstakingly, so you can get them explicitly.
So, here we go!
How To Put Up Whogohost Domain On Blogspot
Step 1.
First, you have to open two tabs on your browser. On one of the tabs, login to you blogspot blog panel. By visiting https://www.blogger.com
On the other tab, visit Whogohost's blogger panel. (It will be very difficult to find whogohost's blogger panel through your client area. So, to make this tutorial more easier, you can simply click here or copy the direct link below
Step 2.
After you must have opened the link above, you will be directed to a page that looks exactly like the one in this screenshot.
Now, fill the form correctly with the information required.
• Your Email Account: Your email should be the same email you have in your whogohost account.
• Your Security Pin: The need for a security pin, is to help secure your domain when invaders come. So, you are absolutely free to choose any pin of your choice, as long as you will be able to remember it when the need arise.
• Your Domain Name: Your domain name is the domain you have with whogohost. Note that you are not supposed to add www. in the box. For instance, if you have a domain like Myblogdomain.com on whogohost, you are not expected to add www. before Myblogdomain.com.
For the CNAME RECORDS, leave that. We will get to that later
Step 3.
Open the other tab where you logged in to your blogger dashboard. Click on SETTING.
Step 4.
At this juncture, scroll to where you have "Blog Address", click on "+ Setup a 3rd party URL for your blog" under Blog address.
Step 5.
A box will appear asking you to input your 3rd party domain. Fill the box with your domain from Whogohost, and click on save.
Note: make sure you add www. before your domain.
Step 6.
Now, an error message will come up, saying that "we have not been able to verify your authority to this domain. Error 9". But you shouldn't panic at all, because you are just few steps to set up your domain on blogger.
Simply copy the CNAME data given to you below the errors message. The screenshot below will show you the details to copy.
In the screen shot above, the data we need are:
- www
- ghs.google.com
- m424wq4johuz and
- gv-y2c56wcbllbhox.dv.googlehosted.com
However, you are not supposed to use the one above. Make sure you use the one from your own blog.
Step 7.
Open the other tab again (That is, where you have the Whogohost blogspot panel). Now, fill the CNAME record form with your blog's CNAME.
You will notice that, the first and second boxes has been filled with the same CNAME record you have in your blog. So, you can simply leave them and fill the 3rd and 4th with the one from your blog.
Step 8.
Before submitting, type the text painted red, on the textbox below it to pass the security test, or use a recaptch if any. And click on SEND CNAME Records.
After this, wait for some minutes and you will receive a mail from Whogohost confirming that you just sent a CNAME Record to them. However, you will still have to wait until another message is sent to you, showing that your Domain has been mapped out for blogspot.
The message will be like,
Step 9.
Now, login to your blogspot dashboard again, click on SETTINGS, click on "+ Setup a 3rd party URL for your blog", and add your domain name again (with www. before your domain), and click on save.
Yes, there is no error this time around right?
Notice:
You must not forget to edit your new domain, and Check the redirect box so that people who visit your old domain will always be redirected to the new domain. (This is compulsory).
